Description
The Toborg Institute for Research Applications, under contract with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), conducted in a needs assessment in 1988 of BJA's evaluative research and program assessment activities. The study sought to review current evaluative research and program assessment projects undertaken by BJA to assess gaps and to recommend ways that agency's evaluative research and program assessment activities might be enhanced in the future. This volume includes summaries of the evaluative research and program assessment projects undertaken by BJA up to 1988. The appendix of this volume is a companion report which describes a process that the Toborg Institute proposed to BJA to assure that both evaluative research and program assessment activities were undertaken in a systematic, integrated fashion, and the results of those activities are disseminated in a timely manner. The title of the companion report in the appendix is "An Assessment of Needs Regarding Evaluative Research and Program Assessment for the Bureau of Justice Assistance."
