Description
It's nearly a year since Hugh and his girlfriend Wendy were in a freak accident at the town's annual masked parade.
The physical scars have healed but Hugh can't enjoy life despite the compensation money paying for a new house and a fast car. Maybe it's because Wendy, now living in a hotel, keeps asking him for money as does his flirtatious house cleaner.
When Hugh meets a young woman who offers to help him he needs to confront an unbearable truth and stand up to intimidation and kidnappers.
Written almost entirely in the present tense, this novel has a sense of urgency that will make you feel like you're there alongside the characters as they, and you, experience the story unfold.
This short novel, based on the screenplay 'The Daisy Guy' also by Giles Darling, is a romantic thriller. It contains mild sexual references and moderate swear words.
Thanks to Corinne Smith for proof reading this novel for me.
