The survivors relocate to the Proxima Centauri star system with the help of their Terran cousins, whose ancestors had time-traveled from the Earth to this system in the past to avoid time paradoxes with their 21st century relatives. There both groups face new challenges, both natural and alien, which threaten the survival of everyone, Earther and Terran alike.
