Description

This is the second part of Barrat's story: See Alter Egos: Victim for part one. Part three will be up soon!

My name is Barrat Trelner and I have several problems. The first is that I can't find a job in financial analysis despite graduating with an Honours degree from one of the best programs in Matheir, the country I call home. My second problem is that everyone thinks I had something to do with the biggest market collapse in our planet's history.
Since I was kidnapped right after a job interview at the company who was targeted to start the collapse, I stupidly volunteered to be questioned at the Interrogation Clinic (aka Insanity Central). The third problem is that to protect Kerit, my friend and mentor, from exposure when I was kidnapped, I triggered the fail-safe that hides my secret identity from everyone. Including me.

Justice is the dark side of me my family knows nothing about. The assassin. The predator. I eliminate evil doers when their victims cannot find true justice in the 'money buys justice' legal systems. With Kerit?s aid and the training he gives me, we bring closure to many and death to the guilty who have paid to evade the consequences of their crimes.

Once I do regain my memory, can I continue to juggle my two personae? It seemed simple at first, but the cabal who orchestrated the market collapse continues their plot to cripple Mathier's six biggest investment firms by hiring me to kill my father. Just what I need, another problem. Part of me thinks his death is more than justified and long overdue. Part of me wonders what's really going on and wants to warn him about the danger he's in. I have to decide to save him, or to kill him myself.
I wonder what part of me will make that decision.
