A Gold Medal eLit Award winner for Best in Animals/Pets in April, 2018. Also a Double Silver Medal eBook Award winner in August 2018 for Best eBook Cover and Best in Animals/Pets. Sometimes in our close relationships with dogs, we encounter phenomena without ready explanation that suggest another dimension beyond the accessibility of our five senses. The Authors share their experiences with their favorite breed, the Samoyed, though all dog owners will appreciate the love and lessons learned here. Samoyeds are a double-coated Arctic breed and were "discovered" when polar explorers in the latter half of the nineteenth century needed reliable means of transportation and used sled dogs to map and explore the North and South Poles.
While working on The Story of Rex of White Way, The Blizzard King, unusual events were reported to Jim Cheskawich by others and experienced firsthand during the research and interviews about Rex's life. Friends also indicated they experienced unusual events with their dogs and this collection of stories was born.
Even with the passage of time, some events cannot be explained or rationalized, and the mysteries remain puzzling. Following is a collection of short stories describing the magical and oftentimes entertaining facets of these dogs' fascinating lives. These anecdotes have been recorded here so that someday we might have more complete explanations.
