Description

What would you do out of Spite?

If Mark Davis had been vain, he'd have said he was perfect. But Mark Davis was flawless, so vanity wasn't a condition from which he suffered.

Mark Davis had five major interests in life: Himself - His Career - Himself - Sex and Himself. Usually in that order, but occasionally the fourth interest overtook the third.

Mark Davis was a winner - totally focussed and destined for the top of the corporate ladder - no matter who or what got in his way. This included his down-trodden wife Vicki. She certainly knew where she belonged in Mark's life - He'd told her enough times.

Everyone and everything was secondary to Mark. This included the baby Vicki desperately wanted. It would have to wait - obviously. Mark had decided this too. Babies weren't even human - being smelly, crawling, puking things which crapped everywhere - almost like an alien. And then the embarrassment of having to fit a child seat in your executive car - how demeaning. No way!

Maybe Mark would let Vicki have one when he'd made Financial Director. It'd show responsibility, that he was a mature family man, and also that he wasn't shooting blanks. Besides, Vicki would be the one who'd look after the thing. That's why God didn't provide men with lactating breasts. Babies were womens' problems. However, a family picture on the large office desk would look great for his corporate image. But not yet. Vicki could wait - and would.

Vicki understood this though, being totally loyal and supportive, catering for all the needs of her man like a well-trained gun dog. Mark was the only man she'd ever need. He'd decided that too. Mark Davis was all man - and more.

Mark knew what he wanted and always got it. He was heading for the top of his company, aiming for Financial Director - and he'd get there soon - at all costs. 'Open wide I'm coming through!'

Mark had it all worked out - perfectly planned - and would succeed in his mission to get to the top - Wouldn't he?

However, the 'Gods of Planning and Ambition' had smirks on their faces and had decided otherwise. Within a few days Mark's perfectly ordered and carefully planned world would fall apart, his life and plans destroyed.

Paranoid people think someone is out to get them. Mark Davis wasn't paranoid. He knew someone was out to get him.

As Mark's life rapidly goes from bad to worse, in a fast-moving and twisting plot, laced throughout with black humour, grim brutality and non-stop action, Mark desperately tries to discover who has shattered his once perfect world. And more importantly - Why?

The terrifying truth he finally discovers will destroy him, as he learns to his horror what someone will do out of Spite!

Spite! is a fast-paced, dark and twisting psychological thriller, which takes you page by page through a range of emotions, from pulse-thumping horror to gentle chuckles of grim dark humour.

Anyone who enjoys a fast-moving, twisting, unpredictable psycholocogical thriller, threaded with dark humour and surprises, will enjoy this unique story and be shocked to learn what some people will do, simply out of Spite!
