Description
Sabrina's Mom made the best waffles - thick and golden brown, with deep wells to catch the butter and syrup. But with her mother gone, Sabrina's father heats boxed, frozen waffles, pale imitations that can't possibly compete with the memories. Kind of like life without Mom.
When heartbroken Sabrina makes wings from feathers strung together with fishing line, the stuff her mother said Sabrina's father trailed everywhere, getting it into everything, and called the strongest stuff in the world, she's able to fly to the mountain of the angels in search of her mother.
Only once she's there, she finds the line between life and death is thinner than she thought - roughly the width of a piece of fishing line. Now she has to hope the wings she so impossibly made are strong enough to see her all the way home - and back to life.
