Description
All I wanted was to give my daughter, Katie, a nice Christmas. I'd gone all out to get tickets for Disney on Ice to please her and now it looked like it was going to gt all messed up. When I got stopped for speeding, I couldn't hold back my tears. I didn't all out sob, but the cop knew I was upset. Thank goodness he was at least kind. I guess he knew I'd break down if he wrote me a ticket. He was so handsome, too. Even though I was upset about being late, I noticed that. Who wouldn't?
As a widowed single mother, I gave my daughter everything I had. There was no man in my life and I didn't even think about dating. It just wasn't the right time for me. I wasn't sure I'd ever be ready to fall in love again, but sometimes I really missed the connection. The joy of sharing with someone who truly cared for you.
When a second chance to get to know the handsome copy who'd given me a ticket popped up in the middle of a snow storm, I couldn't believe my luck. When it turned out he was judgemental and opinionated, the bubble burst. Oh well, all the more reason to be content with my life as it was. Christmas would be just fine with me, my little girl, and my family.
