Examples are given of how words dating from the time of the Celts, Romans, Visigoths and Moors have passed into modern Castilian (Spanish). By studying short excerpts from various literary masterpieces, students can compare medieval Castilian with a version as spoken today. A translation in English is provided as well. This ebook is well illustrated with photos that will help students relive the events covered in the text. Activities, questions and a final exam are provided to help students learn about the great history of the Spanish language as they express themselves in their target language.
