Description
When New York psychiatrist Lydia Kroll takes on a new patient, she thinks what she has in the chair is a straightforward case of post-traumatic stress disorder. Her patient, Don Loreto, is convinced he is being haunted - he says he is having visitations. Lydia believes he is hallucinating and that his disorder has been brought on by a bad childhood experience. To treat him she must first get to the truth behind his trauma - and to do this she has to turn detective. Following clues thrown up in Loreto's therapy sessions Lydia picks up a trail. As she follows it, the trail leads to an old house located in the remote town of Tecumseh, a small close knit Michigan community which is itself haunted by events from its past. In Tecumseh she meets with unexpected resistance to her investigation; there are those who want strangers kept out. As she uncovers a truth more shocking than she could ever have imagined she realizes that her own life is now in danger.
