Description

A British and international crime comedy. In a rural English town in 1986, dim-witted politicians are unaware of a clandestine MK-Ultra mind-control project and a secret plot which could spark a second Cold War. Retired secret service spy Tallulah Millstone is proud to introduce a visiting North Korean Stalinist to British cuisine but she's becoming politically indoctrinated over a hot stove and a member of the community is blackmailing her. Tallulah's thoughts turn to murder but how can she pull it off if her MI6 License to Kill has expired? A woman is found dead in mysterious circumstances and interest wanes when the annual community party and a politician's re-election take priority. Recently deceased paranormal detective, Constable Ernest Barnstable, takes on the unsolved case with his investigators who reveal an intriguing scenario which could rock the very foundations of the Vatican City. Final results of Constable Barnstable's investigations must be channeled to a police station via a medium, and journalist Roland Wheeler is the only psychic. But he writes left-wing articles, is a pathological liar and is romancing with Tallulah's niece and a Russian spy.
