Description
""George Washington's" Last Duel: 1891" by Thomas Nelson Page takes place in the south, on a plantation. George Washington is the plantation owner's slave, butler, majordomo, and the man who oversees the other men and women on the grounds. Through his work and cleverness, he's managed to secure a comfortable place of "quasi-freedom." However, when a woman from the north comes to visit, things start to change.
