Description

This standalone novel can be read any time after Sagitta and reveals the origins of one of the series' most dangerous characters.

A Dark, Alien-Origin Story in the StarFighter Universe

Before humanity ever reached the stars, Sledgim was a forgotten world -- a frozen planet hidden from the charts of the Maurian Empire, buried in a wrinkle of spacetime. To those born on the ice beneath the split mountain, there were no ships, no empires, and no escape.

Hrain was one of them.

The son of anitheum miners, his future promised only labor and an early death. Then the voices came -- and with them, a forbidden power no Maurian was meant to possess.

When the Empire discovers that Hrain can read minds, his life is torn apart. Forced to flee, he is drawn into the orbit of Drakmara, a mysterious patron who offers shelter, purpose, and training. What begins as salvation becomes something far darker, as Hrain and the other gifted children learn the truth: they are being shaped into weapons for a war that has not yet begun.

As ancient prophecies resurface and gods wear the masks of kings, Hrain must confront the cost of survival, the price of loyalty, and the violence demanded by those who claim to rule in the name of destiny. His choices will echo far beyond Sledgim -- and forge the outcast warrior encountered later in Sagitta.

Hrain is a standalone novel set within the StarFighter Universe. Darker in tone and alien in perspective, it explores the origins of Mauria's most feared telepath and can be read on its own or as an optional companion to the main series.
