Description
A sweet gay romance in the tradition of the Gay Moments series and Brad and Ash by Kevin Armstrong. Young Jay Graham finds that his early morning thoughts (or fantasies) are increasingly being invaded by one of the cutest boys he knows in Bay City, Andrew Simpkins.
However Jay's world is turned upside down when, later on, he starts to have boyish sexual experiments with Andrew and these adventures are secretly videoed and uploaded onto the internet. Jay is terrified that his conservative and religious-minded parents, if they find out, might disown him and kick him out of the family home. He hopes that his dad will remember the biblical parable of the Prodigal Son.
Eventually Jay is able to break away from Andrew's destructive influence when he falls in love with Augustus Agostino who is a champion athlete. However there are storm clouds on the horizon. If Augie wins sufficient points at the Bay City Boys' Athletics Boot Camp he'll be qualified to enter the Australian Sports Institute in Canberra which is on the other side of the country. Will this mean the end of their relationship?
Excerpt:
As he was drifting off to sleep later that night in the cabin Jay was beset by those treacherous thoughts again. Perhaps it was fate that had decreed that Augie should be struck down by the illness so that he wouldn't be able to compete in the final races, thereby losing his chance of going to the Australian Sports Institute. Maybe the gods had intervened so that Jay and Augie could stay together, living out their lives in Bay City.
After all, hadn't Augie's father been right when he reckoned that the careers of professional athletes were often very short and only those at the very top earned any real money? It often cost families heaps so that their sons or daughters could compete in the Commonwealth or Olympic Games.
