Two months have passed since a fold operation transported the SDF-1 and most of Macross City into solar orbit just this side of Pluto.

While attempting to return to Earth, the space fortress repulsed an attack by the pursuing Zentraedi forces by undergoing a modular transformation. The transformation destroyed much of the city due to its radical effects upon the ship's structure. In the intervening months the damage has been repaired, and things have returned to normal.

Rick Hunter, the Robotech forces' newest recruit, has been working hard to survive the training necessary to make it as a Veritech Fighter Pilot - the elite of the defence forces. Just out of basic, Rick looks forward for his first leave.
