In 1932-1933 a war would take place in the mountains of East Tennessee involving Soldier, Lawman, and Moonshiner--It became known as The Cumberland River Coal War.

--This is the ONLY Novel based on the events of the Cumberland River Coal War Lynching's.

As dozens are killed in a series of tornadoes a long running Labor Strike burns out of control between Miners and National Guard Troops in Fentress County, Tennessee. Meanwhile, a short but bloody feud would spark off after two Byrdstown Lawmen were gunned down at the Stearns Coal and Lumber Company by a suspected moonshiner. The suspect at large is a 22 year old musician with a reputation for trouble. Set against a 1930's Prohibition Era backdrop we follow Detective Anvil Clemens as he races against time to find the shooter of these two legendary Lawmen before a Reward Motivated Lynch-Mob.
This series of events would lead to several deaths as well as a brazen midnight assault by a lynch mob on the Scott County Jail (known today as the Historic Scott County Jail and Museum).
This book can also be found in paperback in the giftshop of the Historic Scott County Jail and Museum in Scott County, Tennessee.
