Description

Traveling the Oregon Trail is a life altering event for Kate Simpson and her young sister Ana, The open hostility with her in laws and the sudden death of her husband leave her at the mercy of the members of the wagon train. As a result of lies spread by her in laws she is force to make a decision about remarrying immediately or being left behind. The wagon master insists she can not be left on the trail alone and they decide to allow her to travel behind until the next town at which time she will be left there. Before reaching the next town her father-in-law is killed in a river crossing leaving her mother-in-law with no wagon, no food, little money and no one who will take her in.
