John MacRae is just an ordinary and average twenty-something year old guy. A bit of a loner who does construction work for a living, most of the time he keeps to himself and lives a quiet life that consists mostly of work. All that changes after attending a party one cold winter night.

Waking in a strange place to find that he has been inexplicably yanked out of place and time and dropped into an empty wilderness in the far distant future, John must find a way to survive in a world that has returned to the stone age. The Earth has recovered from the damage done by the long extinct human race and a new sentient species has gained a foothold but they are far from human.

Rescued and befriended by a solitary member of this new species, John struggles to adapt to the staggering isolation of his new surroundings and the hard, primitive life that comes with it. As a strange connection slowly grows between he and the one who rescued him John questions with why he has been brought to this place and this time and why he and his companion have been brought together. The answers he will find will surely surprise him...
