Eric has always wanted to be a horse trainer. He loves riding and showing and he plans to start training horses as soon as he's done with high school.

When his horse, Orion, gets injured in a riding lesson, he thinks that his whole show season might be over before it even started. Then he gets an opportunity to take on a new horse to ride and show until Orion is healed.

Eric is so excited about this new opportunity, that he starts to neglect his schoolwork. When Deja starts to worry about his grades and ask him questions about it, he gets in a fight with her that leads to hurt feelings. Will they be able to mend their friendship? Will Eric choose to leave for the East Coast to train horses instead of finishing high school in Oregon?
