An excerpt from this biography book on Carson Wentz's story:

On April 28, 2016, the Philadelphia Eagles selected a little-known quarterback from North Dakota State with the second-overall pick. Carson Wentz, who had shattered records for both his college and Division I-AA, helped lead the Bison to two consecutive FCS national championships as a starter, including a most impressive 15-1 record his junior season.

Wentz has experienced a career of ups and downs and has illustrated how to persevere through adversity. He has exemplified talent and illustrated in his second season just how dominant a force he can be when he is on his game. Unfortunately, injuries have played a major role thus far in his career and have been a huge chapter in his life.

As a college quarterback, Wentz threw for 5,115 yards, mostly all in his final two seasons in which he played 23 games. He threw for 42 touchdowns at North Dakota State and achieved an overall rating of near-perfection, 153.9, during his college playing days. His list of awards and accomplishments are too long to list here, but they include being named the 2015 and 2016 National Championship Game Most Valuable Player, being named the 2014 Sporting News MVP, making the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team, and the 2014 College Sporting News Playoff MVP.

He is the elite model for academics and athletics, achieving high success in both. Wentz, a straight-A student, always believed in the motto that "education comes first." Being smart in academics also makes you better on the football field. Playbooks are complex and Wentz has mastered them and made fools out of defenses.
