I have seen too many young teachers switch careers in the first 5 years, as according to them, they had not been made aware of what life was going to to like in the classroom. Apply Your Wisdom pulls back the curtain, so to speak, and gives a inside view of life at school. What is it actually like to be a teacher in today's world? I returned to the classroom after 14 years working in other fields and discovered on the first day back that the world had changed enough that most all of my former strategies I had used during my first 9 years teaching, could not all be used. So I embarked on a journey to re-invent my teaching career. Studying Neuro Linguistic Programming had changed my life and had given me many new skills to apply at school. This re-inventing was a lot of fun, as well as hard work. I continue having a blast teaching high school mathematics. It is more fun than I ever imagined.
