Many life situations are discussed at length.Apply Your Wisdom is a must read for everyone that works in education especially educators in the early years of their careers. What is it actually like to teach? I have heard many say that it was not anything like they expected it to be. I have seen too many young teachers switch careers in the first 5 years, as according to them, they had not been made aware of what life was going to to like in the classroom. Apply Your Wisdom pulls back the curtain, so to speak, and gives a inside view of life at school. What is it actually like to be a teacher in today's world? I returned to the classroom after 14 years working in other fields and discovered on the first day back that the world had changed enough that most all of my former strategies I had used during my first 9 years teaching, could not all be used. So I embarked on a journey to re-invent my teaching career. Studying Neuro Linguistic Programming had changed my life and had given me many new skills to apply at school. This re-inventing was a lot of fun, as well as hard work. I continue having a blast teaching high school mathematics. It is more fun than I ever imagined. If you think about it the line from the movie The Imitation Game is a great future pace. It is repeated 3 times and says, "Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine." Go for it!
