Description
Heaven has an immigration problem, and there's one sadistic Angel who wants to build 'the wall'.
It's hell up in Heaven - or so some angels believe. Their paradise is being ruined by the influx of humans who ignore tradition with their culture of funfairs, football and fast food - and to make things worse, most of the angels are loving it!
Join the Devil with his butler, Simon, on their clandestine holiday in Heaven and watch the mayhem unfold. Will Heaven's dynamic duo of law enforcement spoil their fun and finally make an arrest? Can St Peter solve Heaven's immigration crisis? Will the 'All Mighty' Leader have his way and abolish humans from Heaven? Find our in JS Austin's unique insight into the Afterlife.
Saint Peter was having a busy year. The earthlings were at it again. Wars. Why did they enjoy them so much? With all their wars came death and an influx of souls making their way to his famed garden gates (aka the Pearly Gates of Heaven).
All the work with these extra souls was stretching his wafer-thin patience to breaking point and then breaking the already broken points even further.
"No! No! Definitely not. Forget it! You're not coming in wearing those clothes. Hop it. Move on."
Enjoy a plethora of Heavenly characters:
The Devil - The evillest creature to ever live. But also, an on-trend, business minded socialite. With the stress of running his empire, the Devil deserves a nice vacation in Heaven.
Simon - The Devil's personal butler. His mission in life (or death), is to make his employees life as perfect as possible. How the Devil coped before he had Simon is a mystery.
Slugart - How can an Angel be so un-angelic? Rude, conniving and darn right evil. Ever since humans started turning up in Heaven, Slugart has been plotting a way to abolish them all.
Guy & Roger - The self-declared police force of Heaven. Who'd have thought Heaven would need policing? Well Guy & Roger think so. Complete opposites, they are still as hopeless as each other. But could they be about to arrest the biggest baddy of them all?
St Peter - He used to be the dude. A welcoming face that embraced the humans. Now after centuries of rude, obnoxious humans, a new St Peter is there to welcome you. One that's happiest winding up humans who don't deserve to be there.
Reader Review - "Make Heaven Great Again."
That is the goal of the Trump like Angel Slugart in J.S. Austin's masterful analogy of the behaviour of authoritarian thugs in A Devilish Vacation.
In a very well written book, Austin makes excellent use of ancient figures like the melancholy St. Peter and the over the top Lucifer in showing the dangers of following demagogues that want to tear society apart by scapegoating the other"
