Description

By the twenty-seventh century, eons of war, disease, and climate change have diminished the earth's population.

Towns worldwide have sunk into coastal waters. Those who remain must struggle to survive.

As deadly viruses kill thousands each day, a dangerous man with a sinister past -- Pye Peters -- wields an iron grip on the 'zones' that have survived nature's purge.

Pye's plan is simple: exploit the 'breathers' and use advanced medical techniques to revive the newly deceased.

And so, thousands are brought back from the dead, kept animated and docile by medication preventing the typical rabidness of zombies.

These modern versions of the undead are forced into harsh rehabilitation programs to ensure the changes take.

Blake 187 is one such rehabilitee. This is his story.

What Readers are saying:

"Who knew zombies had feelings? What if human technology were to advance to a state of being able to bring back those who die to 'train' them for our own purposes? I thoroughly enjoyed the journey that was Blake 187 and look forward to more!" -- Amazon review

"Another masterpiece from this dynamic duo! Blake was just a normal man, desperately in love until Enni died of the plague. Unable to bear life without her, he chooses suicide... only to be brought back as a zombie. In 2603, humans (called breathers) are not to reproduce outside of authorized situations, and zombies are deliberately created for lives of slavery and entertainment. Witches are banned, most sentenced to death. And zombies are given medicine on a regular basis to keep them from turning rabid. This is the world Blake 187 wakes to find himself in. Desperate for a way out, he befriends Pete, a zombie with many secrets, and Helena, a witch whose path is nearly as bleak as his own. This book was so well-written I could visualize it as the future of our nation -- and it sent chills down my spine. An amazing read, highly recommended. I cannot wait for future installments!" -- Amazon review

"I must confess I love zombie stories, but Blake 187 is a totally different story than anything I've read before. Michelle Wright and Aiden James have created a society in which the dead are converted to zombies to do the work that humans can't or won't do. These zombies are controlled by the few humans left as the world appears to be affected by terrible climatic events. The traditional zombie story is generally about the survival of humans and their struggles, this interesting novel is about the struggle of the zombies. Give it a try you might like it." -- Amazon review

"Aiden James and Michelle Wright are an awesome team. They have written a very different zombie tale. One where zombies are the workers of the world in horrid conditions. In the year 2603, they are altered to comply and not allowed to have thoughts of their own. Blake 187 is determined to change that. This book has characters that you feel for and a great plot that is very different from any other zombie tale. I really enjoyed this book and hope there will be a book two!" -- Amazon review

"A polarizing tale of a young man so lost in grief he does the unthinkable... only to wake up a zombie bent for slave labor. He rebels. This is not your zombie eats brains book. This is a look at what could be a brutal future where one man rules all, even the dead. I strongly recommend this book." -- Amazon review
