Description
In the summer of 1994, a play called The Strike of 1889 opened in London. Conceived by Steve Rogers and written by Steve and Robert Hamilton, it played for only 30 performances. All were sold out, ended with a prolonged standing ovation and the production received universal acclaim from the press and media alike. The Price of a Cigar both recreates and develops this extraordinary play and the confrontation and tragedy of a love affair between two people from conflicting worlds.
