Cinderella stories among quarterbacks in the NFL are very few and far between. Most every star passer in the game has come from a distinguished background. Even if they did not have a great childhood, they were high school and college stars with high aspirations and illustrious promise.

The story of Josh Allen, however, is unique. He grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere in California, and the nearest town was some thirty minutes away. He showed promise as a passer in high school, but hardly anyone wanted him. He had to play for a community college first before the University of Wyoming gave him a call and asked him to come aboard.

Even then, the chances of Allen getting to the pro level were remote. Only three other quarterbacks in the game's history were drafted out of Wyoming, and none of them were picked in the first five rounds; only one came after 1960.
