Still reeling from the abrupt end to her relationship with coworker Blake Morris, Kate Adams is forced via job transfer to adapt to life in the mountains of Tennessee. Pumpkins in the Pines Lodge is a far cry from her former location on warm Tressle Island, but autumn in these wooded highlands has its own allure, as does her handsome new coworker, Jack, who takes more than a passing interest in her.

Though Jack's attention keeps Kate from wallowing in her heartbreak, she still must cope with the pain of seeing Blake every day, since he received a transfer to the same location. Their new coworker, Alisha, who just happens to be Blake's high-school sweetheart, isn't making this any easier.
