In 2076, terrorists capture the Moon mining colony's rail guns in order to rain shipments of iron ore on their enemies on Earth. Dan Parnes, de facto leader of the Moon colonists, his mistress, Mattie Barre, together with a small number of AIs must rouse the miners to seize back control of the rail guns.

But before Dan and the miners can act, governments on Earth must first be convinced of the danger represented by the mines' new owners. Thus, the miners stand by while shipments of iron ore are launched as guided missiles, circling the Earth and under the control of the terrorists.

The world becomes convinced of the threat after tons of iron ore land in Saudi Arabia, in explosions that decapitate the leadership of Saudi Arabia. The miners are now free to act, but more missiles remain and these are hidden in orbit and controlled in secret by the leader of the terrorists on Earth. Then, the UN receives starts receiving demands and Dan must send Mattie into danger...
