Twelve-year-old Marco Fuller is taken from his father and forced to move in with his grandmother. There's a problem. He's never met his grandmother, and she lives hours away from Detroit. How is he ever going to see his father?
Then Marco finds notes in his books. One note simply says help. Another note is a series of numbers. Marco worries his father is in real danger. He devises a plan to get down to Detroit, determined to find his father and help him. Unfortunately, danger comes to Marco and his grandmother first. Now they must work together to not only protect Marco's father but also themselves.
