Description
Hector Berlioz composed the music for Benvenuto Cellini, a semiseria drama in two acts with lyrics by Léon de Wailly and Henri Auguste Barbier. On September 10, 1838, the Académie Royale de Musique's Salle Le Peletier hosted the world premiere of Berlioz's first drama. Although the plot's elements are mostly made up, the novel is inspired on the diaries of Florentine artist Benvenuto Cellini.
