Description

MEAN LOU GREEN is a brand-new style of Blitzkrieg pulp fiction that will hook you with its reckless charm and pull you deep into the Wild West for outrageous adventures full of gunsmoke, whiskey, and cheap perfume.

You've never experienced anything like MEAN LOU GREEN before.

?Lightning-speed flash fiction that reads like a Rock n' Roll album

30 super-short tales, 10 per volume, all about the same characters.

Each tale takes 1-3 minutes to read but will get your heart racing and blood pumping.

It's like spinning a Wild West roulette wheel... You never know what's coming in the next story.

RIDE ALONG WITH LOU, the "bounty hunter hunter" who does what he's got to in order to buy his next bottle of rye and is pushed endlessly west by a tragic quest to bring his dead son's silver dollar to the Pacific that he can never seem to complete.

He handles Indians, other bounty hunters, an arch nemesis Grim Reynolds, too many beautiful women to keep track of, and enough rotgut to make him half blind.

While he stomps and howls through the Old West, Lou:
-fights a group of howlin' Injun Braves who are after his scalp

-has a run-in with an old partner-in-crime Spitshine Sierra, a cold killer who's prettier'n a daffodil but vicious as a she-wolf

-deals with a thievin' soiled dove who robs him blind and nude

-ponders the deeper meaning of a half-full whiskey bottle

-shoots himself

-battles Grim Reynolds, the stone-faced maniac hellbent on making Lou pay for his past actions

-has a traintop duel in a South Dakota blizzard

-gets a bullet removed from his liver without a painkiller

-poses as a town marshal

-plays some brutally high-stakes poker

-gets himself a mean Greener sawed-off shotgun

-assaults the winter cabin hideout of the notorious Erie Watson gang with two young hombres by his side

-faces off with the famous bounty hunter Shane Savage

-hears the wildest song he's ever heard in a saloon... About him

-plays a winner-takes-all-and-more game of Russian Roulette

-tests out his left hook (more than once)

-and more...

"[Chris Jones is] keeping the spirit of Robert E. Howard alive" - Dan L.

So grab a drink, light up a smoke, and dive into the Wild West rollercoaster that will leave you flushed, wide-eyed, and scrambling back for more.

"In this book, you follow the adventures of cutthroat, gunpowder, whiskey-smelling, thick-skinned, and overall badass Lou Green. I got hooked. Author Chris Jones is clearly passionate about his characters, and the reader will feel that from the book cover, and all the way to the epilogue."
-Hugo D. Lopes

"It reads RAW butter smooth, very enjoyable. Having never read pulp, as someone new to this kind of writing, I actually fell in love with the short blood-pumping short stories. Character development is on point and interesting; it feels organic. My favorite story must be Lawman Lou - it had me hooked all the way and I was transported into that land for some minutes as long as I read it. Damn good short book in my honest opinion."
-Stefan S.
