Description
Kelly (a single mom and fiction writer) hasn't felt like herself in a while. She's stuck, her confidence is shot, and she's struggling to remember her worth. It's nearing the one-year anniversary of her husband leaving, and Kelly is currently experiencing writer's block.
She's received a writing grant, and (according to her sister -- the math whiz of the family) Kelly needs to finish her latest writing project in six months or risk running out of money. A budget is created, but can Kelly stick with it? Kelly needs to focus on writing, but she can't seem to concentrate. Queue the writer's block, which is causing her to worry that she won't finish her project in time, which is causing more writer's block. It's a vicious cycle.
Does she really want to deal with this new life? She's not sure, so she does everything in her power to avoid actually writing. In the process, Kelly's quirky personality surfaces, and she finds herself flirting with random strangers while she's out and about shopping (spoiler: she can't stick with that budget). She finds her self in wacky situations because she's not above dumpster diving or putting her foot in her mouth -- did she really call her date a cock?
Thank goodness for her two best friends and sister. They're her sounding boards -- which makes for some fun banter! These three women are Kelly's sounding boards as she continues to navigate her new life, heal her heart, and find her confidence. Is her new foray into dating really the right choice?
Ultimately she needs to write again. But will that happen before time (and money) runs out?
"Flirting with a New Life is addictive." --Lee Tobin McClain, New York Times Bestselling Author
