Description

Will Akers Jr. is a farm boy from Winfield, Kansas. Trying to break free from his small-town upbringing, he pursues a law degree at the prestigious Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, KS. As a student at law school, he meets, falls in love with and marries a girl who eventually becomes the first ever female President of the United States. ? Her name is Maureen Donnellson.

We follow The Akers family through their tantalizing journey to political power and their quest for the keys to The White House. During the mudslinging 2015 presidential campaign, battling the powerful Democratic nominee, Victoria Blakely, a dark secret is uncovered about the soon-to-be First Gentleman's past. The bombshell news devastates the victorious Republican administration and the ensuing chaos plunges the nation into turmoil.

Rich J. Tilley spins the fast-moving plot within the pages in the most unique way, having the first two characters that we meet write the story that we are reading. Through crafty pieces of foreshadowing and hints of what might have happened, the reader will begin to formulate reasons why the novel begins from the Brixham Point prison library with selected journal entries written by an incarcerated Will Jr.

During this epic thriller, the author intertwines real events and famous people from recent American history with his fictitious story line. We meet strong characters along the way: Emma Sue Mayberry; a classy journalist and biography writer; Amberleigh Gardner, Will Jr.'s crush in high school; Bryden-Steven Powell, the self-assured and chauvinistic GOP political advisor, and Bernie "The Shark" Sharkey, the cunning detective, whose relentless pursuit for truth stirs up a whirlwind of trouble for Will Akers Jr. and Maureen Donnelson-Akers.
