Description

"Andrew Barrett - a truly talented writer," Michael Wood, best-selling author of the DCI Matilda Darke series
"A gritty and uncompromising book with an unforgettable main character. Gripping, fast-paced and spiced with dark humour." Elly Griffiths - best-selling author of the Ruth Galloway series
Welcome to the best-selling CSI Eddie Collins series. This is a boxed set of the first three crime thrillers in this celebrated series featuring a man hellbent on doing the right thing - his own way. 1000 pages of non-stop action and emotion will leave you exhausted and hungry for more.
The Pain of Strangers. This is how Eddie's life changed.
CSI Eddie Collins's wife leaves him. She only comes back once - to take the dog. At work, Eddie is battling bad people. One bad person in particular seeks to choose how Eddie, and the victims he tries to protect, will die.
Black by Rose. This is how Eddie saved someone.
CSI Eddie Collins battles a cruel gang boss, Slade Crosby, and does everything he can to bring him to justice for the murder of an undercover officer. But Crosby is always one step ahead, and it isn't long before Eddie finds himself in a lonely wood with a gun at his head.
Sword of Damocles. This is how Eddie lost someone.
When a woman is found dead inside her burning car, everyone thinks it's a tragic suicide. But CSI Eddie Collins looks deeper and discovers something odd about the driver. It isn't long before he realises the woman was murdered and the killer is working hard to erase a past that stretches back to the dark days of the 1970s and the Yorkshire Ripper.

What people say about the CSI Eddie Collins series.
The Pain of Strangers:

• The best book I've read so far this year.

• The whole series is truly compulsive reading.

• Fiendishly good, absolutely gory, gruesome and darker than you can imagine but with sharp gallows style humour.

• One of the finest crime series out there.

• Barrett feeds the reader with the nitty gritty of the dark corners, nasty alleys, and tenements of Leeds.

• I totally loved this book.

• The Pain of Strangers is brutal and thought-provoking.

• Barrett's writing style is full of sarcastic humour and pulls no punches.

• The drama, psychological drama, suspense, timing, and original plot make this one of the best books I've read in a while.

Black by Rose:

• A gripping story. The more I learn about Eddie, the more I like him. He can come across rude, short tempered, foul mouthed and completely unlikable, but inside he is big hearted and cares strongly about his job as a CSI examiner and doing all he can to get justice done.

• Eddie Collins is a really complex character but love him or not, he will keep you entertained all through the book.

• Andrew's descriptive talent knows no bounds and his writing is sharp and punchy.

• I finished this book in 24 hours and now can't wait for the third. About time we saw Eddie Collins on TV!

• Get yourself comfortable, you may be here for some time.

Sword of Damocles:

• This is a gripping thriller with a central character one can empathise with, written with authenticity as the author is himself a CSI.

• I was totally overcome by the revelations in the letter in the final chapter and it moved me to tears - not something I can recall ever happening to me with a book before.

• Fast paced, ingenious and terrific suspense built up to boiling point for the ending.

• This is one of the best books I've read for a long time the characters are amazing. I laughed so much I wet myself but still could not stop the laughter or the tears, I felt as if I was with them.
