Description
The Glass Bead Game is played by the academics of the 23rd century in the far-off Kingdom of Castalia. A synthesis of all human knowledge, including arithmetic, music, philosophy, science, and art, the intricately coded game is created. When Joseph Knecht was in school, he was intrigued. As an adult, he is obsessed with winning the game. Knecht must deal with unexpected problems and the desire for a life outside of the ivory tower while he completes his life's work.
