Description

A compelling and thought-provoking book about the history of Nazi Germany exploring various aspects of this totalitarian state and its impact on people, in a comprehensive and nuanced manner.

Little Girl Gena and her cousins explore the history of this period from a different perspective. Through a children's game of imaginary worlds, Gena takes her aunt, who is a historian, into different timelines and realistic events of the Second World War.
Initially, a silly game of fantasy brings forth a new way of understanding significant historical events.
She shows her aunt how and why ordinary but desperate citizens of Europe were made to fight for Nazis and how Nazis kept their heinous crimes secret from the world.
They discuss how Stauffenberg' s assassination attempt of the Nazi dictator, if successful, would have saved millions of lives, as well as, how the Nazi's obsession with huge-sized war weapons failed in war, and how brutal life was in concentration camps.
They talk about battle scenes of WW2, like the Battle of Normandy and Kursk. In addition, they touch on how Indian soldiers contributed to the First and Second World War, and how Gandhi's belief helped in the independence of nine countries.
