My next-door neighbor, Leon, is a jerk. All it takes is one bad first impression to set my feelings straight. He's a tattoo-covered motorcyclist who hates the world and everyone in it-including me.

There's no reason my heart should pound every time I catch his eyes in my direction.

Though, I can't ignore the way his permanent scowl softens whenever I'm around. Maybe it's my imagination getting the best of me.

When the time comes for a second impression, I start to believe there is more to Leon than I originally thought. He's got a soft side, one that makes it hard to hate him.
