Description
These unpublished letters home from major battlegrounds of the Civil War provide important primary texts for historians and Civil War buffs. These letters offer a critical view into the day-to-day life of a U.S. artillery soldier who fought at Shiloh, both battles of Corinth, Iuka, and Vicksburg. Available for the first time in print, these letters have been preserved in the soldier's family for over 150 years. In an effort to make this information available to a wider audience, this book was conceived.
