This is the revised version of, Around the World in 80 Men. It has been edited into first person.

When did this part of my story start? Maybe it was when I agreed to a date with Jack, or it could have been the time that I waited for him to show, but never did. Most likely, it was Julianne Marks helping herself to the empty chair at my table while I sat in humiliation at being rejected by my date.

I guess it doesn't really matter when the turning point was because my life will never be the same.

Julianne offered me a chance to travel. To spend time with men who wouldn't hurt me, and treat me like a princess. The catch? I would be paid for my time. Sex would never be an issue, I enjoy that part. But could I do it with no strings attached? No feelings? Is it possible to be treated well, and not fall in love?

I was about to find out.

Excerpt:
I could see myself in my mind, flashing quickly with images of me and Jack if he had actually shown up for our date the night before. The same thoughts that I already had but shifting in a way that landed like steel in my mind. It was true, I would have slept with him and if he ever called me again, it would only be for sex. It wasn't Jack's problem if women were handing it out, but I wasn't going to be one of them. The icing on the decision cake was hearing that he'd never committed my name to memory but banging me brought him right to my front door. All in all, I learned more about myself that night when I was trying to learn how to please Jack with no strings on my part. I was the one who needed to adjust herself, not him. I knew that I could stand in line and be used by men like Jack, or I could straighten my crown and give it up on my own terms.

I crawled forward and turned around to face him. "Jack, I have an idea." I smiled sweetly at him, but he was already beginning to get angry at the fact that I had moved. He ran his hands through his hair, and exhaled loudly as he waited for me to speak.

I stepped away from the couch, my body taut with anticipation. "If you can remember my name, then we'll continue. But you have thirty seconds or I'm done here," I warned as I squared my shoulders and crossed my arms over my chest. "It shouldn't be that hard, you talk to me all the time in the restaurant. We've talked on the phone so many times - I'm sure it's got to be saved in your phone, right?" His face was an impassive mask but his hesitation said everything - he had no idea what my name was. The thought of what title he'd given me in his phone made me nauseous.
