River and Alayzia were high school sweethearts who bonded through the struggles of the hood. Now, adulthood has kicked in and brought with it more freedom than River or Alayzia have ever experienced, but it's also brought more responsibilities... responsibilities River is amazing at handling. While he's progressing in his career as a police officer, Alayzia is out avoiding her share of the work and living her best life, which includes taking risks that could result in her being the next person River finds himself putting in handcuffs.

Alayzia just wants to have fun without enduring River's endless complaining, despite his attempts to protect her from the dangers of the path she's headed down. Her stubbornness and defiance place her in the presence an alluring stranger who piques her curiosity. She believes she has everything under control and everybody under her thumb, but when it all falls apart, Alayzia is left picking up the pieces and trying to figure out what she has left.
