Rab McPherson falls off a roof just hours before his girlfriend arrives. Marie-France, a fiercely independent shepherd and Galla her stalwart border collie, have come to live in Labeille to be with him. The villagers welcome her, but she is confused. The Rab they portray is completely different from the man she thought she knew. Feisty Marie-France stays in the village to discover more about him. Many of the locals are affected by the dynamic young woman's unconventional approach to life, but none more than the inscrutable Jacques Luciani and his family.
Away Tae Me is the first in a series of novels, Tales From Chez Jacques, set in a fictitious village in the real south west of France.
