Description
In 1977 Stephen Barrett won the NCAA gold in wrestling but by the next morning, the happiness had faded. He realized that having goals apart from God would not bring him lasting fulfillment. Although Steven was a Christian, he had wrestled for his own glory but now he wanted to commit his life to God and use his athletic talents for God's glory. Soon after, he joined a team of wrestling-missionaries called Athletes in Action a decision that would lead Stephen and his family to live in the former Soviet Union where they had the fascinating experiences related in this book. The Unlikely Missionary shows how God worked in his life and used surprising and unexpected circumstances to teach him valuable lessons.
