He is found on a beach, unconscious and dehydrated. He has no memory of his name or where he has come from, then he meets Peter. Peter, a boy growing-up in a beautiful place, but without a father. He is however surrounded by his loving family and friends. On an island where life is different from the World beyond its shores. The dark jagged clifftops and rocky coastline to the North where dense forest jungles and mountains make passage almost impossible and have created much mystery. To the contrast of the South with its sandy white beaches leading to tropical forests, lush fields and pastures. Where the people of the island thrive, a neighbour is a good neighbour, a friend is forever and nothing seems like too much trouble. But soon there is a change coming, one predicted many years before and seldom mentioned. The destiny of all who live there may soon be challenged, both people and animals alike.
Peter has now one new and very special friend, the most loyal of friends but he has no name. This new companion, a deeply trusted one joins Peter on the start of a long journey to discover who and where he came from and their lives become intertwined. Their adventures shared, especially in their vivid dreams. Peter's friend is always there, always present and always quietly watching him while slowly realising his purpose.
Adventures are what Peter and all his friends live for! Particularly his friend Sally, she loves adventures as much as any boy could ever do! Sally joins Peter and The Boy as they discover there are many things the Island has, until now, kept secret.
The animals are often really not what you might expect. In many ways that is a very good thing indeed! Day by day, on Peter and his friends' adventures, the animals become essential companions to Peter and his friends.
Turning 14 years old is very important for all children. For Peter it was an incredible day. It was the first day he ever saw his Grandpa Will's amazing sailing ship, Dream Catcher, for real. A beautiful 3-masted vessel. A ship that had belonged to Peter's family for three generations and a ship that would prove to be very important in Peter's most challenging of adventures. One where he starts to discover a duty by his own birth-right, a journey to the frightening North of the island. A place Peter had never been.
And so, the story of Peter's destiny and all around him and the Island begins. The journey to the North, by sea, aboard Dream Catcher. With Peter are his special friend, his Grandpa Will, the crew, and of course some of his animal friends. On this journey there are so many things that Peter has to discover and learn. Importantly he must understand his birth-right, which is one of the main questions he has to answer to himself and his friend. But who in fact is this friend, who is this boy who is always by Peter's side? What is his name? Why are there so many challenges and obstacles being put in front of Peter and the crew of Dream Catcher? Is this some sort kind of dark magic? What are the island's secrets? At times Peter struggles to comprehend what is true or untrue, real or not real, the journey is both treacherous and thrilling.
Of two things Peter can be sure, his friend, the Boy will be by his side. The second thing, they must not fail as the very future of the Island and everything on it may be at stake!
