Description

A captivating coming-of-age story about two boys and their friendship in the face of everyday problems and unexpected danger.
"A heartwarming tale of friendship against all odds in this engaging coming-of-age thriller." READERS' FAVORITE

Sixteen-year-old Spencer and his friends are collectively known as the Wyatt Five. They are a close-knit group of privileged teenagers who spend their summer days lounging at a lavish mansion or spending their parents' money without much thought. At night, they typically attend wild parties where they have easy access to sex, drugs, and alcohol. However, the Wyatt Five make it a point not to follow the reckless behavior of their peers or get themselves into any significant trouble.

Boredom drives them to invent The Souvenir Game. The rules are simple: each person must visit Englewood Park, the impoverished area of the city, sneak into a house, and take a souvenir that represents low-income living.

Spencer unexpectedly stumbles upon an 11-year-old boy in need. As he spends time with Dalton, Spencer begins to reflect on his own privileged upbringing and finds himself developing a strong bond with the boy. Sympathetic & protective, he takes Dalton under his wing. But when danger threatens their safety, Spencer must defend himself and Dalton to ensure their survival. If he can't, they will be torn apart, never to see each other or family & friends again.
