"I, Matilda Clayton, reject... " I began to speak, but Alpha Damian interrupted me by clamping his palm over my lips. He drew me close to him and hissed.
"I'm not going to accept your rejection, Matilda," he hissed. "You are my mate. You are the best present the Goddess has ever given me. "I will not let you leave."
My heart was pounding against my ribcage. His aroma completely overloaded my senses. He leaned down to run his nose up and down my jaw. My skin was on fire. Every inch of my body wanted to be touched by him.

"I can't let you go, my darling," he murmured. "I've longed for you all my life."

His lips touched the marking point on my neck, and I almost burst into flames. Getting him to accept my rejection would be the most difficult thing I'd ever had to do.

Matilda, a 17-year-old girl, has yet to shift into her wolf form. Her father neglected her mother when she was very young. She was often bullied and mocked. Matilda is devastated and crushed after the death of her mother, the person she loved the most. Her father returns to take her back to his pack. Matilda is against it, but her financial predicament compels her to accompany him.

Damian is a Lycan wolf and the leader of his successful pack. He is 22 years old and has yet to find a mate. When Matilda arrives at his pack, he is startled to learn that she is his mate.
