This is a fast-paced story with a lot of action. It is very much about Drew as we watch him grow and learn from his life experiences. Contrasts between the highs and lows make for a dramatic story.
The main 'hero' character, Drew, is likeable. You can feel his kind n
ature and his comradery within teams is exceptional. Other characters' personalities come through well and are consistent. The descriptions of techniques used by the armed forces in combat are detailed and I'm sure would excite and engage any reader.
The structure is consistent across chapters, giving a well-paced story. The story goes back in time at one point to talk about Drew's childhood and growing up, but this is clearly structured.
