Orion thought that he would be coming home from school as usual, but this is proven to be incorrect. After he gets off the bus, a girl approaches out of nowhere, attacks him and says... something about his soul. He doesn't really know what she meant by that, so he seeks out the advice of his closest friend, Leah, who had an experience with the girl (Selene) as well. Then, a man whose lower half is completely mist, comes out of Leah's journal to explain to them what on Earth is going on. He tells them that they are both vessels of ancient war heroes who died after fighting The Kraken -- who is now living inside of Selene -- and has returned to get its revenge and destroy the world. He tells Orion and Leah that they have no other choice but to seek out and defeat The Kraken, but of course things don't go as planned.
