Description
Saanvi has loved Rajvansh Singhaniya since she was ten, but to him, she was always just his best friend's little sister. Now, after a devastating heartbreak, Raj has sworn off love, building walls around his heart that no one can breach. But Saanvi isn't one to back down easily. She steps forward with a bold challenge: she will win his heart, piece by piece, and show him how to love again.
Their journey takes them through a battlefield of betrayal, love, and unspoken desires. As Saanvi battles against Raj's hardened exterior, will she manage to glue together the fragments of his heart, or will the weight of the past be too heavy to overcome?
EXERT FROM THE BOOK:
Raj didn't even look up. "You need to leave," he said firmly, his voice clipped with irritation.
Saanvi leaned against the doorframe; her arms crossed casually. "Good evening to you too."
He finally looked up, and his face hardened when he saw her. "I'm serious, Saanvi. Leave."
Saanvi's lips curled into a teasing smile. "Oh, I will," she said, stepping into the room. "But not just yet."
Raj let out a frustrated sigh, tossing his pen down on the desk. "What do you want?"
Saanvi tilted her head, her eyes gleaming. "A game of chess."
Raj raised an eyebrow, clearly taken aback by the suggestion. "Chess?"
She nodded, stepping closer, her confidence growing with every step. "If you win, I'll leave you alone. I'll stop pursuing you, and I'll act completely professional around you. No more... distractions."
He leaned back in his chair, folding his arms. "And if you win?"
Saanvi smiled, her gaze holding his. "If I win, you go on five dates with me. The places will be of my choosing."
Raj's laugh was low, almost condescending. "You've made this too easy," he said, shaking his head. "I've been playing chess my whole life. You don't stand a chance."
Saanvi's smile widened. "Maybe. But I'm willing to take that risk."
Raj's curiosity was piqued, but he wasn't about to lose. "Fine. Let's play."
Without waiting for further discussion, Saanvi walked over to the door and shut it quietly, then turned and pulled the blinds down over the office windows. Raj watched her every move, his frown deepening.
"What are you doing?" he asked, suspicion creeping into his voice.
Saanvi glanced over her shoulder. "Getting comfortable." she said.
She moved to the center of the room where a sleek glass chessboard sat on the coffee table. The pieces were elegant and modern, reflecting the dim light from the overhead lamp.
Raj stood up from his desk, removing his blazer and rolling up his white shirt sleeves. His movements were calm, almost relaxed, but there was a tension in his shoulders that betrayed him.
As he took his seat across from her, Saanvi did something that made his breath catch. She began unzipping her dress, her fingers working each button with deliberate slowness. Raj's eyes widened, his gaze never leaving her as she slipped off the dress, revealing a black lace bra underneath.
Then, she stepped out of it, leaving her in nothing but a black lingerie that hugged her curves like a second skin.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Raj growled, his voice thick with shock and arousal.
Saanvi met his eyes, her expression calm but seductive. "I told you. I'm getting comfortable."
Raj's eyes roamed her body despite himself, drinking in the sight of her with a mixture of disbelief and desire. He swallowed hard, trying to regain control. "This... this is cheating."
Saanvi raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a playful smile. "All's fair in love and war, Raj. So, what's it going to be? Play the game, or admit defeat right now and go on those dates with me?"
Raj clenched his jaw, his pride not allowing him to back down. He leaned forward, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the chessboard, forcing himself to ignore the beautiful woman sitting across from him. "You're on."
