Sisters Gitana and Plum live in the remote kingdom of Bloom where their family has governed for centuries. Both enjoy riding horses and wandering along the Western cliffs. Although Gitana is one year older, her occasional recklessness and weird bouts of amnesia worry 10 year-old sister, Plum who uses her developing Empath powers to keep Gitana out of trouble. Otherwise, the girls are blessed with a loving family and the ease of a privileged childhood.

So, what are the sisters to do when their kingdom and family are threatened by invaders? Plum's solution is to toss Gitana over a cliff, then flee in the opposite direction to find help alongside Ji, a village boy with disabled legs and an ace archer's arm. Both girls embark on their own adventures to reunite with each other, save their kingdom, and explore and develop their special abilities. With the aid of strange children living in a land made of desserts, fairy-like creatures who emit electric pulses, and an elusive dragon, the sisters and Ji race to find a way.
