Description
Just as Aurora starts to seize control over her own life, everything around her begins spiraling into disarray. Leaving behind everything she has ever known, she takes a leap and moves to a completely unfamiliar place. But America is nothing like England, and its people are even more distinct. Relying on her brother to guide her through this transition, Aurora agrees to stay with him and some of his teammates -- seven, to be exact. She soon realizes her usual sense of comfort doesn't apply here; everything feels vast, daunting, and overwhelming. Just like her brother's best friend.
Maddox is Aurora's complete opposite, a contrast that only intensifies the pull he feels toward her. He's aware that his presence might be harmful to her, that the darkness in his life could easily seep into her brightness, like ink spreading through clear water. Maddox doesn't know exactly what to make of her, but he does know she's constantly on his mind. Watching her struggle isn't an option, especially in Greenville, where it's survive or fall behind. Aurora's been tossed into the deep end with no lifeline, and the only thing keeping her afloat is the tattooed hand reaching out to save her.
