Turning twenty-one is a huge milestone for anyone, but for Calvin, it's a life-changing moment. On his twenty-first birthday, he's to take over his family pack. This should be a blessing. A new beginning for him and his family, but it's quite the opposite.
Calvin has spent his whole life being conditioned and trained for this role. As the first-born son, it's his duty to his family. A rule that has gone by for generations. One his father is keen to follow on.
However, as his birthday approaches, he is given a gift by his mother. He can travel to the mainland and live the life of a normal, happy-go-lucky twenty-year-old on one condition - he returns for his birthday and decides whether to take up the role as Alpha or walk away.
